 Built Quality

The built quality of the soundbar is pretty good and it has been constructed with metal and high-grade plastic material. Though plastic has been used in its construction, the upper surface of this sound bar imparts a leather look. Inside the metallic mesh, there is a set-up of three speakers and two subwoofers. To maximize the performance of the speakers and subwoofers, they have been graced with an elliptical design. The speakers are aligned in the front on both sides of the soundbar as well as in the center. The subwoofers are placed on both sides of the center speaker. For Air displacement, there are air vents on both sides of the soundbar. All essential touch buttons are provided on the upper surface of the soundbar. On the front, you also get a digital display. Overall this sound bar comes in a flat broad design. Even if you have mounted your TV on a tabletop, you can easily place this soundbar under it.

The remote is the same as you get with the A5000 soundbar. The remote comes with volume control along with controls to reduce or increase the volume of the rear speakers as well as the subwoofer. Apart from this, you get a night mode and voice enhancement feature on it. However, like Sony HT G700, you do not get any third preset mode on it, like Movie, Game, Theatre, etc.

On the connectivity front, this soundbar comes with an HDMI eARC and Optical Digital port. If you have a Sony Bravia TV that has XR Technology, which supports Acoustic Center Sync, and you connect it to this soundbar through the S video port, the TV will act as a center channel and the sound will appear to be coming directly from the place where it originates on the screen, just the way it is heard in a Cinema Hall. As of now, this technology is found only on Sony XR TVs. When you sync it with Sony Bravia TV, you get all the soundbar settings on the TV itself and you can adjust these settings through the TV remote. This soundbar comes with DTS, DTS-X, and Dolby Atmos decoding. Apart from the vertical surround, it comes with S-Force Pro Front Surround sound. Along with Dolby Vision passthrough, this soundbar comes with DSEE and 360 spatial sound mappings. It also supports 360-reality audio. In the box, there comes a 360 reality audio coupon, using which, you can get a free 90-day subscription to 360 reality music on nugs.net.

This soundbar comes with a built-in Chromecast and Bluetooth. Through your phone, you can enjoy music on this soundbar. It supports Apple Airplay, Spotify, Google Assistant, and Alexa.

Sony SA-SW3 subwoofer, which is compatible with this soundbar. The built quality of the subwoofer is premium and it has been constructed from MDF. In the front, there is a fabric finish. The finishing of subwoofer is also in a leather look, and on the back, there are switch-on-off and link buttons, along with a power port. This is a wireless subwoofer, which can be connected wirelessly to the soundbar through this link button. In the center of the subwoofer, there is an indicator light. This subwoofer comes with a 160 mm driver unit and 200 watts power output.

Two models of rear speakers are compatible with this soundbar, one is the Sony SA-RS3S and the other one is the Sony SA-RS5 set of speakers that come in a cylindrical design and have up-firing speakers that give 360-degree surround sound. In my opinion, the SW-RS3S rear speakers are sufficient for this soundbar. However, if you are opting for HT A5000 or HT A7000 soundbars, then you should go with the RS5 rear speakers as those soundbars come with up-firing speakers, and, in combination with these rear speakers, they grant an amazingly good Dolby Atmos experience.

At the back of these speakers, there is a link button, pushing which you can wirelessly connect these speakers to the soundbar and the subwoofer. Initially, this soundbar conducts a sound optimization process. During this, it tunes the audio, according to your sitting position and the placement of the rear speakers to grant the best sound experience.

 REAL PERFORMANCE

So now, let's talk about the performance of this audio system. Initially let's talk about the performance of this standalone soundbar. As this soundbar comes with dual inbuilt subwoofers, it is sufficient in itself to give a powerful performance. When you play this soundbar without a subwoofer and rear speakers, the sound waves travel vertically and horizontally and appear to be coming from the front as well as from the sides. The audio clarity of the soundbar is outstanding, and, its bass is pretty deep. Audio clarity is worth mentioning, here, as even on the low volume you will never miss a dialogue! Dialogues are crystal clear over it. Apart from this, you get a very good bass effect too. Generally, a standalone soundbar is unable to create that deep bass, which can catch the attention of bass lovers, but this soundbar produces a pretty deep bass, which is mostly obtained after connecting an external subwoofer. So, if you are searching for a soundbar that even without a subwoofer and rear speakers is capable of displaying very good audio clarity, is accompanied by heaviness in dialogues, and can make the action scenes thrilling for you, then this is the soundbar you can go with. You also get pretty good loudness on it, which is sufficient for a medium-sized room. And if you connect this soundbar to the subwoofer, you will get more punch and depth in the bass, which will be exhilarating for bass lovers. However, the best surround sound experience can be obtained only when you connect this soundbar to the rear speakers! Then, you also get a 360 spatial sound mapping feature on it. In combination with the rear speakers, this soundbar initiates a sound field optimization process, which according to your sitting position synthesizes the sound waves to create multiple virtual Phantom speakers all around you, in order to grant you a very good surround sound experience, where you get to hear sound from all around you.

Listening to any 5.1 ch sound on this audio system, it will appear as if you are sitting in a Cinema hall and watching that particular movie or program. I will try my level best to describe this audio experience in words. Even if your room is small, you can install these rear speakers alongside your bed at ear level. Whatever action takes place on the screen that sound comes directly from the soundbar or the TV, however, the background scores are heard through the rear speakers and these Phantom speakers, virtually installed all around you. To be more precise, if an actor is speaking something on the screen, you can hear his voice coming directly from the front, whereas, all background sounds like bells ringing in a distant temple can be heard coming from behind as well as from all directions surrounding you. Watching horror movies and action movies on this audio system is an exhilarating experience in itself! Creepy sounds emanating in the background of horror movies will frighten you all the more, and, the eerie sounds originating all of a sudden could increase your heartbeat instantly and scare you out of your wits! The sounds of cross-firing during action scenes will make you feel as if you were there, right in the center of the scene! To be honest, without rear speakers, you cannot get a real surround sound experience on any soundbar. This soundbar, along with these rear speakers, gives you a very beautiful surround sound experience, which replicates the feel of a Cinema Hall. And to give you an idea about its loudness; when you play this audio system in a medium-sized, 17x12 feet room, it is so loud that you can hardly hear any person speaking even next to you. This complete package of the soundbar, subwoofer and rear speakers can be purchased at around Rs 1 lakh. If you just want to enhance the audio of your TV, then you can even go with this standalone soundbar. On this SONY A3000 SOUNDBAR, you get good loudness, very good audio clarity, and pretty deep bass. This soundbar can be purchased for around Rs 57,000. And, if you want a very good cinema-hall-like surround sound experience, but your budget is a little less, then you can skip the subwoofer and go with the soundbar and rear speakers only. As this soundbar comes with two built-in subwoofers, the need for an external subwoofer gets minimized. Now, many of you must be eager to know how this soundbar stands superior to the G700 soundbar. Here, I would like to tell you that this A3000 soundbar comes with better dialogue clarity and deeper bass, apart from compatibility with wireless speakers, which is not possible in the Sony HT-G700 soundbar. In the end, I will conclude by saying that this is a very good audio system, which comes with outstanding dialogue clarity, very deep bass, and an amazing surround sound experience. It would have been better if the company would have given up-firing speakers on it like A5000 and A7000! Then, we could have gotten a better Dolby Atmos experience, which is obtained when sound waves coming from the up-firing speakers, bounce off the ceiling, to give a feel as if the sound was coming from speakers installed in the ceiling.

So, this much only for today, hope you liked this article, take care and stay safe.
