Top 5 Best Budget 55 inches 4k HDR TVs 2019

Which Are The Best 4k 55 inches Budget TVs Of 2019?

If you are searching for the Best Budget 55 inches 4k TVs of 2019, you have landed at the right place. This ranking is based purely on the picture quality and picture upscaling capability of these TVs. I believe that smartness and audio can always be enhanced later through external measures, while the picture performance is in-built and cannot be augmented later on. Thus, while purchasing a TV our focus should be on the picture quality rather than any other thing.
Recently, I had made a video on my channel, Techiebeez India, in which I had explained in detail about TVs. Please watch that video for sure or read the article related to it, so that you may know which TV is suitable for you.

In this video, I have just given a brief introduction about these top 5 TVs and talked about their Pros & Cons as I have already done a detailed review of these TVs on my channel Techiebeez India. For your convenience, I have also rated their varied performance on a scale of 10.
We will start from the bottom and gradually proceed to the top 55 inch 4k TV of 2019.

5.

Fifth-ranking goes to the newly launched 55 inches 4k Google-certified Android TV, K31.
The built quality of K31 is decent and it is pretty smart to look at. In this TV, you get 3 HDMI, 2 USB, 1 SPDIF, and 1 Ethernet port. For connecting your home theatre, you also get HDMI ARC in it. The TV, also has Bluetooth connectivity as well as an AV-In port, but it comes with only single-band Wi-Fi.
This TV comes with DLED backlighting and A+ grade IPS panel whose brightness rests at 270 Nits and its static contrast ratio is 4500:1. Though you get HLG and HDR10 support on this TV, don't expect it to work flawlessly as the brightness and contrast of this TV is nowhere even next to the minimum values required for optimum HDR 10 performance. But, unless you see this TV side by side any good TV, you will not have any problem with its brightness and contrast. The colour reproduction of this TV is decent but blacks are not very deep.
The 4k picture quality of this TV is good, but SD channels when seen through set-top box will not appeal to you. However, when you watch applications, especially Netflix, through your Internet connection, the picture quality will look pretty good. 4k HDR videos, when played through YouTube, don't play in the same clarity as Netflix, but they definitely look good. The viewing angle of this TV is pretty good so watching it from varied angles would not be a problem. This TV comes with Micro dimming, that unlike Local Dimming, does not seem to play any major role in enhancing the picture quality. It only works minutely towards improving the colour, brightness, and details. Details on this TV get played with decent clarity.
The picture upscaling capability of this TV is poor. 720p videos hardly get up-scaled on this TV. Even 1080p videos play in their native resolution.
The 60 Hz refresh rate of this TV fails to stop blurring during action scenes, which is somewhat more visible than some other good budget TVs.
This TV comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. It is an Android TV that comes with the latest Android Pie 9 and on this TV, you get the liberty to side-load applications.
On this TV, you will be able to watch applications like Netflix, YouTube, Hotstar, Eros Now, Jio Cinema and Zee5, etc. According to the company, from October 2019, you will also be able to watch Amazon Prime on it. The remote of this TV has buttons to Netflix and Google Assistant. This TV comes with Farfield voice support, but it will not work right now. September onwards, you will be able to purchase a dongle for it that would allow you to interact with your TV through your voice without any remote.
This TV comes with Artificial Intelligence. You can operate many of your compatible smart devices through this TV. To lure customers, this time, iFfalcon, too, has come up with LG like Artificial Intelligence system in its TV. However, in my opinion, LG's Web OS is far advanced than this one.
This TV has a built-in Chromecast, which works pretty smoothly.
This TV is graced with two stereo box speakers having a total sound output of 20 Watts. This TV comes with Dolby Audio MS 12. The audio of the 2019 model is definitely better than their last year's model, K2A. However, for a cinema Hall like experience, you will still need external speakers with it.
Now coming to the after-sales services of TCL, they are definitely not good. People have been complaining a lot in this regard. The unresponsiveness of the company can create problems for you.
So overall, the picture quality of the 2019 model is more or less similar to its 2018 model, K2A. Honestly speaking, I found the 2018 model a little better than this new model. Not only in looks but in picture quality too, K2A was better. The blacks were deeper on the 2018 K2A model. Artificial Intelligence picture engine hardly seems to play a major role in enhancing the picture quality of this TV. The brightness, contrast and RAM of this year's model are lower than the 2018 model. Even one HDMI port goes missing in the 2019 model. K2A had dual-band Wi-Fi, while this new model supports only single-band Wi-Fi.
However, the 2019 model gets somewhat better smartness and augmentation in its audio quality.
So, if you are the smarter one who prefers advanced technology, you can definitely go for it. The picture quality of this TV is above average and audio too is pretty good. Overall, this TV is a good offering from TCL that gives you a decent package at a low price.
I will rate the 4k picture quality of this TV as 8 out of 10, SD channels get 5 out of 10, the picture quality of HD channels can be rated as 7, the audio gets 8 and smartness can be rated as 8.5. In picture upscaling this TV gets only 3 out of 10 and motion handling capacity can be rated as 5 out of 10.

4.

4rth rank is occupied by Samsung's newly launched budget TV NU6100, which has been launched by the company to give a tough competition to the existing TVs in the budget category.
The built quality of this TV is top-notch. It comes with DLED backlighting and has a VA panel.
You get HDR 10 support on it. This TV has been graced with Auto Motion Plus to reduce the motion blur, but still the 60 Hz refresh rate fails to stop blurring during fast-action scenes.
The biggest con of this TV is its viewing angle. If you watch the TV directly from the front, the picture quality will look pretty good, but, if you move at an angle, colours start losing saturation and images appear foggy.
Till the time you watch this TV side by side any other good TV, you will appreciate its performance, but once you see it next to any good TV, the brightness, colours and picture depth all appear to be lack-lustre.
The picture upscaling capability of this TV is nil. 720p videos appear more or less pixelated.
This TV has two-channel speakers having a total sound output of 20 Watts. Though you get Dolby Digital plus in this TV, DTS is absent. Overall, the audio of this TV is decent, but for a cinema-like audio experience, you will need external speakers with it.
The operating system of this TV is Tizen and it comes with Samsung's own application store. On this TV, apart from some other applications, you get Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies, Eros Now, Sony Liv, Hotstar and Jio Cinema. However, you will not be able to side-load any outside application on it. Neither you get Google Playstore on it. This TV also lacks Bluetooth connectivity and 3.5 mm audio jack. The remote is simple and lacks many features.
After-sales services of Samsung is well-known, so you won't face any problem regarding that, but after the warranty period gets over, the service and parts' cost will definitely be on the higher side.

3.

The third rank goes to Vu 2019 Pixelight TV. The built quality of this TV is pretty impressive.
It gets a high brightness A+ grade 4k VA panel and DLED backlighting.
The brightness and contrast of this TV are pretty good and it comes with HDR support. The company lays stake to the claim of gracing this TV with a technology that up-scales the brightness and contrast manifold.
The remote of this TV comes with direct buttons to YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, but you don't get voice command feature in it. This TV misses out on Bluetooth connectivity too.
The colour reproduction of this TV is good. Apart from being punchy, the colours are natural. VA panel graces this TV with deep blacks.
The most important speciality of this TV is its picture upscaling capability, which is very effective. Even 720p videos play with amazing clarity. Even when you play applications through the Internet this picture upscaling capability gets evident as all apps play in high quality.
Like other budget TVs, this TV, too, has a refresh rate of 60 Hz which fails to prevent blur during fast-action scenes. HD channels appear pretty good on this TV, whereas, SD channels play in decent clarity.
Despite having a VA panel the viewing angle of this TV is good. Pictures don't get much washed out when seen from extreme angles.
The speakers of this TV have a total sound output of 24 Watts. It gets Dolby Digital Plus with DTS TruSurround Technology. The audio is loud and crystal clear, you will not require any external speaker with it until you are desirous of listening to cinema like thumping in audio.
For screen mirroring, this TV comes with Anyview Cast, however, the casting of videos appeared a bit laggy.
The operating system that you get in this TV is Linux and it comes with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal storage.
You can play Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, Zee5, Eros Now and Hungama Play on it. Apart from these all, you also get some other apps in the Vewd App Store of this TV. The major drawback of all smart TVs that don't have Android operating system is that you cannot side-load any outside application on it.
The after-sales services of Vu are satisfactory, which can be termed as good in the budget category. In case of any problem, better approach the company directly rather than seeking services from Jeeves.

2.

The second-ranking goes to the 55 inches Shinco Quantum Luminit TV. The built quality of this TV is pretty good. It gets zero dot A+ grade VA panel and the backlighting is DLED.
The TV comes with built-in HDR-X and 4k enhancer.
This TV also has an HDR 10 support and the VA panel graces this TV with deep blacks. The colours pop out on a dark background and there is a good clarity in picture details. The details in dark and bright parts are displayed with clarity.
This TV comes with company's own Quantum Luminit Technology which enhances the colour, brightness and contrast to bring forth a picture quality that stands somewhat close to a QLED TV.
However, the 60 Hz refresh rate of this TV fails to stop motion blur during fast-action scenes.
The viewing-angle of this TV is decent and the picture upscaling capability is effective. Low resolution videos, too, play with better clarity on this TV.
On this TV both HD channels & SD channels play with good clarity.
This TV comes with a fused-in sound-bar that has two speakers with a total of 20 Watts power output. The speakers come integrated with tweeters and Dolby digital audio. It also gets surround sound. The audio of this TV is pretty loud with deep bass and clarity in dialogue delivery.
This is an Android TV, so you can also side-load apps on it. It has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM, which is pretty low.  For normal users, this smartness might be sufficient, but, if you are the one who watches programmes through the Internet, then the smartness of this TV will appear lacklustre to you. The absence of Bluetooth and voice command feature too leaves us wanting for more. However, if you buy an external Android TV box with it, this TV will reduce the scope for further complaints.
The after-sales services of this company cannot be termed as very good, but they definitely are okay. Their policy of not providing replacement or refund even if the new unit is defective is certainly not justified. However, while purchasing from Amazon, you should check the TV rigorously during the replacement period to rule out any manufacturing defect.

1.

The top slot is occupied by Vu Premium Android TV that comes with an ultra-slim design and quality construction that is a rare find in the budget category.
This TV comes with 8-bit A+ grade VA panel and DLED backlighting.
The brightness and contrast of this TV are very good. The refresh rate of this TV is 60 Hz and the ultra-smooth motion rate, too, fails to stop motion blur during very fast action scenes.
The picture upscaling capability of this TV is superb, which is hardly seen even in the higher range TVs of bigger brands.
This is the only TV in budget category that gets Dolby Vision along with HDR10. Though 450 Nits on-paper brightness, does not justify optimum performance of HDR10 and Dolby Vision videos, the company lays stake to the claim of having graced this TV with a technology that upscales brightness and contrast manifold.
The colour reproduction of this TV is vivid and accurate. You get to see natural colours in it. Details display with good clarity even in the dark and bright parts of the scenes.
The picture performance of this TV is impressive. Whether you watch 4K videos or FHD or even HD, all get displayed with utmost clarity.
Despite having a VA panel, the viewing angle of the TV is pretty good. Pictures don't get washed out when viewed from side angles.
This TV has Bluetooth as well as voice command remote. Google Chromecast works smoothly even while casting videos.
This TV gets two box speakers having a total power output of 24 Watts. It gets both Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus. The audio of this TV is crystal clear and pretty loud for normal viewing. But, if you want the thumping that you hear in cinema halls then you will certainly need speakers with it.
You can play 3D 4k HDR games smoothly on this TV. PS4 tends to reduce motion blur to a great extent. In the budget category, this TV is a pretty good option for gaming.
This TV has 1.75 GB RAM and internal storage of 16 GB. This is an official Android TV, so you get Google Play Store on it. You can even side-load applications on it. All favourite Indian applications work pretty well on it.

  2. Very good info indeed. Can you compare LG UM7300 Vs VU premium android TV?. Why all the 2019 models from LG comes with refresh rate of 50HZ even the SM8100 model. Doesn't it pose any issue with TV viewing experience.Pls clarify.
